The Celtics improved to 3-0 on the season Wednesday night, trouncing the Nuggets, 119-93. And the game wasn’t as close as the final score indicates.
In Head Coach Doc Rivers’ return to the sideline, his team exploded offensively, building a 39-point halftime lead, heading to the locker room up 77-38. The Big Three combined for 71 points, 47 of which came in the first half. By halftime, Paul Pierce had scored 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting, and Kevin Garnett had already recorded a double-double: 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Pierce finished with 26 points and Ray Allen added 22. Garnett scored 23 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out seven assists.
